Pondering question:
How do people get discombobulated? Have you ever seen someone who was
combobulated?
Fact for today:
The television was invented only two years after the invention of sliced
bread.
Solution for Thumb drives or portable hard drives randomally shuting off and
on.
This is usually common in older computers that have Windows Seven or above.
1. press start button or click on the start menu.
2. Type in the following without quotes. "device m" without quotes.
3. Arrow down to device manager and hit enter.
4. Tab once to the treeview.
5. Press the letter u to highlight the option of universal serial bus
controllers."
6. Press the right arrow once to expand the treeview.
7. Arrow down to the first instance of "usb root hub." There may
potentially be more than one of these you will need to change.
8. Press alt enter to move to properties.
9. Press control plus tab until reaching the "power management property
sheet.
10. Tab once and you are placed on "allow the computer to turn off this
device to save power" checkbox.
This is checked by default. Press the spacebar to uncheck this box.
11. Tab to okay and hit enter.
12. Arrow down to the next instance of "usb root hub."
13. Press alt enter to move to properties.
14. Press control plus tab until reaching the "power management property
sheet.
15. Tab once and you are placed on "allow the computer to turn off this
device to save power" checkbox.
This is checked by default. Press the spacebar to uncheck this box.
16. Tab to okay and hit enter.
17, Repeat the last five steps for each instance of "usb root hub."
18. When finished making the above recommended changes, press alt plus f4
to close out of Device Manager.
19. Restart the computer after making these changes.
