Subject: Disability Awareness Days, Dan's tip for June 22 2016

Good early morning to all. I just got back from one of those sleep studies
which maybe should be called sleepless studies. A great way to stay awake
for the rest of this long day of activities is to start out emailing my
friends on Dan's tips.  I wish all a very awesome Wednesday!

Pondering Thought:

Why do overlook and oversee mean opposite things?

Tech term: Hardware Terms

: ZIF Definition

ZIF

Stands for "Zero Insertion Force." ZIF is a type of CPU socket on a computer
motherboard that  allows for the simple replacement or upgrade of the
processor. Processors that use a ZIF socket can  easily be removed by
pulling a small release lever next to the processor and lifting it out. The
replacement processor is then placed in the socket and secured by pushing
the lever in the opposite  direction -- hence the phrase, "zero insertion
force." I suppose there is some force required to  push the lever, but it is
significantly less than non-ZIF sockets, which require special tools to
force the processor out.

Words of Wisdom:

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not
sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." -

Anne Bradstreet

Our church has an inclusion committee and each month I am in charge of
posting an awareness article in the Evangel.  In order to be more cognizant
of specific disability awareness Recognition  day/months, I did some
research.   A community which is educated about special needs their
neighbors have, the presence of positive attitudes, respect and Patience is
significantly enhanced. So I am passing on my findings, in hopes the
information may be shared with your friends or neighbors.  Hopefully this
bit of research will inspire someone to check out one or more of the sites
mentioned below and maybe become a volunteer or develop a greater empathy
for those with special needs.  Any of us could have been born with a
disability, develop Parkinson's Disease or Alzheimer's Disease.

Some of the disabilities mentioned below have a site URL associated with it.
Not all did have sites to visit shown on the page I visited.

List of Health & Disability Awareness Days, Weeks & Months

The home page where I obtained the information below has a very
Comprehensive list of  Awareness Days, Weeks & Months.

I research this in order to be more cognizant regarding what type of
information to include in the monthly Evangels from the Inclusion Committee.
I chose those found among our Congregation and a few I thought should apply.

Visit the link below to explore the complete list.

http://www.disabled-world.com/disability/awareness/awareness-dates.php#jan

Deffinition: An awareness date is defined as a national or international
awareness day, week, or month, and is a  date, usually set by a major
organization or government, to commemorate medical research, or  ethical
cause of importance, on a national or international level.

Throughout the year organizations support a variety of initiatives to raise
awareness and understanding for key health issues around the world.
Awareness days, weeks and months engage the public in important health
information.

A national or international awareness day, week, or month is a date usually
set by a major organization or government to commemorate a medical research
or ethical cause of importance on a national or international level. Usually
awareness dates are health related, and help raise awareness of health
conditions, medical illnesses, cancer types etc. Often based around these
dates many charities collect money in the form of donations and fund
raising. There are also other organizations and foundations around the world
that declare both national and international observances, although these are
not always as widely recognized.

We hope this calendar will be of use to teachers, organizations, and persons
seeking forward planning resources, launch dates, events, and charity
donation campaigns, across a wide range of categories and event types.
