Hi Jamie, Sounds like you've done everything right. Have you reinstalled ITunes 8 et? Just thought it might give you the opportunity to set file associations in that process, or that it might automatically take over the CD playing job. That's all I can think of. So why do you like it more than Winamp for this? Just curious. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jamie Pauls" <jamiepauls@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <accesscomp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 20, 2009 11:47 AM Subject: [accesscomp] A really annoying autoplay problem Greetings all: I have been recently playing around with both Winamp and iTunes as my default player for audio CDs. I have managed to get my computer into a state where audio CDs will not play automatically with either program. I have gone to My Computer and right-clicked on the CD drive, chosen autoplay, selected iTunes as my player of choice, and checked the checkbox to always perform this action. As soon as I press OK, iTunes dutifully begins playing the CD but the checkbox immediately becomes unchecked. I have gone to the properties of my CD drive and told Windows to make iTunes the default player for music files and audio CDs. I have told Winamp not to launch for audio CDs, disabled Winamp agent, and told Winamp not to maintain file associations at startup. I have also run C Cleaner to no avail. It is times like this when I really miss Norton Win Doctor. Does anyone have any suggestions? I suppose my life will go on as it should while this problem exists, but frankly it is making me mad! (grin) Thanks for any and all help. BTW: Windows still thinks Music Match is installed even though I uninstalled the program the first day I got my computer. I doubt this is the problem because CDs have played as they should in the past. I mention this because this problem also annoys me! Thanks again.
