Hi Gordon,

To be honest, no. The H1 wouldn't make as good a note taker as the DM5,
because on the DM5, the folders are accessible in that they talk. The H1,
is purely I would say for high quality field recording, or podcasting, etc.

One good thing about the H1 though, which is very difficult on other Zooms,
is that you can erase files on the machine accessibly. On the other Zooms,
you have to go through menus, which are not accessible.

All the best

Steve

Steve
I know I've asked something similar before but I'm still a little unclear.
Wishing to have a good recorder which will give me good radio broadcast
quality I would probably go with the H1. However I also need a notetaker and

like the extra facilities on the DM5.
My main issue is with quality of recording with internal and external mikes.
Am I going to get pretty well the same recording quality with both or is
there a definite advantage in having one over the other?
Could the H1 be used as a notetaker? I mean with speed of recording, not
waiting to get started with complex presses. Also on retrieval of messages I

like to press the next button and jump through messages. Would the H1 be as
flexible as the DM5?
Thanks for any further input you or anyone else can give.
