George, the problem being. I was not at home the day the system was delivered, and setup. So I don't know what the guy installed, and what was already on the system.

Hi Billy,

It is entirely possible that you won't need it, but I've
been too long in this business to make a positive statement.
Best have it to hand anyway.

XP would certainly have been pre-installed, otherwise you'd
not have been able to get up and running when you powered
up.

George.

George, these are very good Ideas, thanks.
Someone on list, mentioned i might not have to worry about

the serial number, if i still have the recovery disk.
Would
xp and such programs be loaded before i received the
system?.
Billy

Hi Billy,

Not wanting to teach granddad how to chew backy, but can I
suggest you keep a copy of Belarc's report on a separate
floppy disk? If ever your system dies, gets stolen, meets
its maker, or whatever, it's good to have if you can't get
at the system for any reason.

Plus, if you are out shopping for bits, take it with you,
and if the guy says, "What have you got at the moment?",
you
can give him the disk and tell him to look for himself.

George.
