Sorry, Billy, you didn't mention the reformat and it being
the same system.

That said, it's not an easy job to do this with recovery
disks without seeing them in full detail. Also, they SHOULD
install any necessary drivers.

I had terrible trouble when I reformatted and installed a
pure XP Home onto my Toshiba satellite. The screen screwed
up, there was no sound, and all sorts. In the end, I
finally found and used the Recovery Disk, then immediately
removed any extraneous garbage like AOL. Thankfully,
Toshiba didn't include Norton, which was by biggest worry.

The second biggest was updating the whole thing, but again
thankfully, I found my XP SP2 CD, so it wasn't quite such a
long haul there.

George.

George,
I didn't want to run 2 copies of the software on 2 systems.
I want to format the computer that has the recovery disk
software, and just=20
Install the xp home software on it's own, without the other
things on the=20
recovery disk.

You know me better than that man,
Billy

Hi Billy,

Running the same version of XP on two system is illegal.

And encouraging illegal software use is a taboo subject
here.

Sorry,

George.
