Hi Jim.

I see, I dont use windows media player all that much for listening to books, but isn't there a slider which allows you to jump through a file?

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim,

I've got that sorted and my audible books are playing nicely on my w 7
laptop.
However, I double checked that I had the latest version of windows media
player but I'm puzzled as to why I can't rewind or forward wind within a
file. These functions are unavailable on the play menu. Seems a bit
strange to me, everybody has to rewind now and then, don't you think?

Hi Jim.

Yes, I've used Sound Taxi in the past and I cant say it agrees with me.
It converts at a ratio of 1-1 with audible books, so it takes however
long the audible title lasts to complete the conversion process. The
only reason I used to convert books was so that I could get them on my
Nokia phone when travelling, but now I use an IPhone and the audible
app, I hardly use the software in fact I dont have it even installed.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim,

Thanks for that. I'll do that.
Have you used file conversion software such as Sound Taxi or similar
apps?
Cheers.
