Hi Dave,

If no items are selected in the Items view, then the number of items in
a location is shown in the status bar (insert + page down, using Jaws). If the
current item in the Items view is selected, you can unselect it by pressing
ctrl+spacebar.

David.

original message:
Hi list,

I am having trouble in getting WE to tell me the number of files in a
directory. I've changed the view options to list. This gives me the number of
the file out of the total in the folder. Unfortunately, the total is smaller
than the true number and varies depending on the file concerned. If I don't use
list view I get statements like "x out of y visible items"  and a percentage
figure which I assume refers to the total number of files. The only way of
determining the true number of files is to use the folder properties which is a
little inconvenient. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix this
problem?

Thanks

Dave
