Hi Pele,

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I'm using Jaws 11 latest version. When I'm in the details view I get the "x out of y visible items" message. I'm assuming this is a Windows explorer feature and not anything to do with which screen reader I'm using. Does WindowEyes not say "x out of y visible items" and a percentage figure?

Hi Dave

If you set the View option for Detail and then set Window-Eyes to Current Index it should show you how many files there are in a folder. To do this:

Go to the Voice Control Panel
Select the Verbosity menu
Down Arrow to "Miscellaneous"
Tab to "Current Index" and check it.

I am running Windows 7 and Window-eyes 7.2.
