Alison
Despite updating Office professional, I still have the same issue, also with
Outlook having written a long email of, say, 200 words or more, then sending it.

I've just finished working on an MS Word document and still have the same issue
of Jaws pausing before letting me move on. Initially it was a bit scary as I
thought Jaws had hung, but now know I just have to be patient and wait for it
to catch up with itself.

Hi Alison
It started out of the blue one day last week. One session it was working
perfectly as it should, the next it was hanging, and has done ever since. As I
say, ditching JAWS or NVDA and loading Narrator is my work-around, but I
automatically close Word down normally on occasions and forget my own
work-around by force of habit. Office, JAWS and NVDA are all up-to-date, as is
Windows. Weird!
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Ah! I'm glad you've mentioned this, Jackie. I have had the same issue recently
but had presumed it was a quirk with my own computer. I come out of Word and
everything goes silent for several seconds. I don't know whether this issue has
now gone away since my husband did an Office Update. I'll find out later.

Hi Steve
We haven't had any issues with the Windows updates on our machines that are all
custom-built. The only problem I'm having since last week is exiting Word
which hangs for up to 30 seconds with JAWS or NVDA latest builds running, but
smoothly closes with Narrator.
Go figure!
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Oddly, I don't. I have updated three computers here with no Outlook problems,
or any problems at all that I have found so far.
I wonder what makes some machines have problems, and not all? I wonder if any
particular makes are more vulnerable? As a data point, could anyone tell me
what makes their computers are when they have these problems? It would be
helpful for computer support, which I do for a living.
Thanks.
All the best
Steve

My version of Windows has updated today and now I can't access Outlook
without going into Safe Mode. Furthermore, it regularly asks me for my
username and password and keeps putting some weird Microsoft thing prior to
my proper username. Microsoft are aware of the problem. It seems that lots of
other people are having the same problem.

well after update of Microsoft 2004 my scanner wouldn't work with Jaws, also
the sound card on the mother board didn't work properly.
every thing ok on the sound card which jaws is using.
try ed changing drivers and removing and reinstalled programs without
success.
after all that I got the chap who built my computer to come and sort it but
with no joy.
he roll it back to the original version of micro soft and every thing worked
ok.
I am using windows10 pro, I didn't know there was a setting for to block
updates.
we are told always to update for security!!
it seems Microsoft win 10 is a bigger threat.
MANY THANKS FOR THOSE WHO OFFERED IDIAS.
Cheers Robin.
