In the settings of winamp, I can't remember for sure but I think it's in the
output plug-in configuration options, there is an item that refers to an
alternative method for volume adjustment.

If this is checked the volume of winamp is turned up and down independently
of the rest of the system including jaws, If it is not used then the volume
controls will turn everything up or down, including jaws and system sounds.

Hmmm. turning down the volume of winamp shouldn't turn down the volume of
your main volume control. I've had this in the past and put it down to a
fluke. It ought not to have happened. re load winamp, plus the scripts and
all should be well, as long as your versionand scriptss are all in order.

also turning down the volume of your screenreader? With the previous version
of winamp I had on this machine, when you used the down arerow key to turn
down winamp it didn't affect the volume of the screenreader's speach.
