Hi Peter,

Okay, try this, not sure if it will work, but I did it when I had installed
some plug ins for winamp in an earlier version.

Go into the main winamp window and press alt O, a preferences screen will
come up, then press the letter O for output, tab past the close button and
you will find a list box, up and down arrow until you hear direct output.
Okay this and winamp should behave normally again.

Not sure if it is this, but worth a try.

Audrey

also turning down the volume of your screenreader? With the previous version
of winamp I had on this machine, when you used the down arerow key to turn
down winamp it didn't affect the volume of the screenreader's speach.
