Hi David,

I used to have a Hotpoint, and it lasted for years and years, and only broke
down due to pilot error, when my now ex-wife put a pillow into it without
checking for holes in the fabric, and clogged up the washing machine with
stuffing!. At that time, Hotpoint were the only make who fitted their
machines with Braille adaptations, but my wife refused to get an accessible
machine because she didn't trust me to go anywhere near it. My reply was that
if I wasn't go go near the machine, I wouldn't go anywhere near my debit card
either. Basically if she thought I would pay for something deliberately
chosen to exclude me from using it, she could bloody well pay for the
privilege.

Best,
Clive

Hotpoint had a poor reputation for reliability some years ago but we had one
for years and years around that time with no issues.

Hi David,

Does the clicky dial have a stop point when you rotate it - say, like an
old-skool radio volume knob, or does it turn and turn and turn indefinitely?

My fiancée has almost made her mind up to get a hotpoint. Does anyone have
any experiences of them?

Best,
Clive

Clive,

I have a Zanussi washing machine. It has a clicky programme dial and about
four buttons. Very tactile.

Hello all,

Suddenly I have to replace our washing machine. What are the best makes or
types to lok for which are either reasonably accessible to V I people, or
are easily adaptable with bump-ons?

I was shocked to discover this morning that Kent Association for the Blind
don't give that sort of advice or assistance anymore, and that all they
could tell me at the RNIB was that I'd asked a good question.

Thanks,
Clive
