your difficulties may be related to where you are and the amount of people around you. Plus.net does seem to have sorted out many of it's support issues out, so give them a bell. They will probably advise you to undergo the broadband fault checker on their portal first.

Hi, I'm having exactly the same problem with plus net. the download speed issupposed to be 8 MB but I've not even seen it at 4 MB, most of the time it's at less than 1 MB. so I was also wondering which ISP provides good downloadand surfing speeds at a reasonable price. I'm with Virgin, and not to repeat what you've been saying, simply the same isbeinghappening with my internet connection since upgrading to 8mb. patheticdownloading speeds to the extent that sometimes even just browsing the netis a hassle :@. Well, the only different it seems that Virgin's helpcentreis in the UK so at least communicating with them is possible! Though theykeep referring me to the infamous speedtester site too! Maybe I'm not in a position to say this, but as a user I think that ADSL technology is a loadof rubbish. It works on paper and when carrying speed tests but in reallifethe story is different. IMHO, a cheep way of providing internet service using an existing network that wasn't designed for this purpose in thefirstplaice. Whish I'd cable in my area :(.
