Hi Mo,

https://www.maplin.co.uk/search/?text=usb to parallel

It's part number AB94F £9.99.

However it appears it is now only available via the web, where it used to be
available in store.

Don't be fooled into buying alternative makes.  They are not all alike, but
we do know for 100% sure that the Maplin ones work.

George

Hello George.
Could you please let me have a link to the converter you recommend?
Very best wishes,
Mo.

Hi Mo,

What on earth make and model of embosser do you have which costs that
much to get it working with Windows 10?

We been supplying braille embossing hardware and software for almost
30 years, and have never come across such a thing.  Yet!

Feel free to contact me off list if you wish.

Subject: [access-uk] wanted: low cost/Free braille translation software?

Hello Everyone.
I have a braille embosser and the software needs to be upgraded if I
am to continue using it on Windows 10. However, I do not print braille
that much so am wondering if the upgrade price of $500 is justified. I
am looking for a low cost, free or open source braille translation
program.
Ideally, I would like it to emboss to any embosser, support grade
1/grade2/UEB UK braille standards and have the ability to work with
file formats such as doc and RTF. It would be good if the program
could also print page numbers and take formatting in to account. The
reason for multiple braille standards support is in case I should ever
need to print documents for friends. Does such a program exist?
Many thanks in advance,
Mo.
