If all else fails, Mo from https://vits.org.uk/ fixed one of mine when it was ;
well and truly done in.  He's much cheaper than Humanware would be.

Cheers

Hi James,

I have also had problems with my Stream and I was given similar advice by
Humanware on how to reset my profile but with one additional additional step.

Make sure your SD card has been removed from the Stream first before pressing
the Bookmark key +5. This step should always be taken when trying to reset the
Stream.

Hello,

Thanks for this, but unfortunately this did nothing. The stream
appears to be a brick, although, I made sure a charged brick. It only
started doing this today, I plugged it in, charged it up, unplugged
it, turned it off and then put some books on the sd card which I had
inserted into my computers card reader. It simply wouldn't turn on
however when I attempted to make sure they had copied properly.

Hello James,

Does this happen when the Stream is plugged into mains power?  Is the
battery fully charged?  It might be worth trying a profile reset.  I hope
the following is helpful.

The Profile Reset Command

Please note: this is more radical than the hard reset as it removes all
bookmarks on the Stream..

The profile reset is a very useful reset which can be used to correct
problems exhibited by the Stream. It can be useful in any of the
following
situations;

- Stream will not power on even with 7 second reset
- INFO key 0 is not working properly or as expected.
- Navigating INFO key items using keys 4 and 6 may not work.
- Book error 7 on music playlist
- Books are not playing as expected; various errors can occur.

The last point is similar to the problem experienced by one user where
certain parts of books are simply omitted during playback. To perform the
profile reset, hold down the bookmark key and the number 5 key while
turning
on the Stream.

Best wishes,

Clive Pallett
