Hi all:

This thread has prompted me to wonder if anyone has set up a list for V.I.
people who wood work?

David

Hi

I'm glad to hear there is finally an alternative to the cobolt talking tape
measure. Ever since I started making furniture in my workshop I've had a
digital tape. The first one was made by bosch and had an LCD display which
was just about readable. The great thing about it was that it only needed an

AA battery to function. Unfortunately it broke and when I replaced it,
bosch had changed the design slightly and the LCD was too faint to read.
Ever since then I've had a cobolt measure, but as Jackie has pointed out
there are a few annoying things about it, primarily it speaking every time
you move the tape and the fact that the battery compartment is only just
about big enough for the PP3 to fit properly. Still I can't complain too
much as it's quite a hardy device, having been dropped on many occasions and

covered in sawdust.

I am seriously thinking of getting a new one and this sounds like just the
ticket.

Darren.
