Well of course we are all entitled to our opinions but I don't get great high volume on my netbook NC10 say if I am listening to a BBC radio programme though I get good volume on Supernova or Jaws. I have even put in a head phone to see if I would hear the BBC sound better or louder but I have not. Many sighted people even go for large screens nowadays for watching DVDs etc.

Hi Eleanor.

Suit yourself, its just that I'm watching a dvd on here, I've my netbook plugged in to speakers and I'm told that the picture is vibrant and the sound to me sounds astonishing. No stuttering playback, nor annoying flickering and the netbook doesn't even break a sweat when using jaws and the dvd plays in the background.

Take your point Ibraham but you will recall my experience with Play.Com and though that is now resolved I did have an external drive for DVD and CD which did some of the job just fine. I would not choose to sit down and watch my favourite DVD on the NC10.

Alternatively you could and probably should invest in an external cd dvd
drive. You can get models that just read for 20 pounds and reader writer drives for around 50 pounds or less. Saves copying files to flash disks and
enables you to watch dvd's and burn cd or dvd disks depending on your
purchased drive's capabilities.

I had to do that for everything to install on to the netbook Nc10.

Have you thought of copying your installation files onto a USB flash
drive and installing from there?
