There are many free utilities that work well with screen readers. I think that wording would have been more useful as the screen reader community can benefit from these utilities generally.


Your idea is a good one, and a list of screen reader
friendly freebies is obviously useful.

Hi everybody, a while ago I posted about a useful little utility called List Maker. Those who emailed me subsequently were happy with it, which got me thinking. There are many very useful free jaws friendly utilities that people don't get to hear about. Here's another one, unlocker. I've put the link below, and anyone who's interested can read all about it on the website, suffice it to say that it's a utility for unlocking files that for reasons best known to itself windows won't let you. We've all had it, haven't we, messages like "this file is being used by another person or program". This little program unlocks them, so that you can move, delete or rename a file that otherwise you wouldn't be able to.
