Hi

Since I am shortly to be given the chance to use one of these, if some
kind
soul would supply the answers to a few questions, just to get me started,
I
would be most appreciative.

(a) How do i set it so my created documents are automatically braille?
Use
the O-chord to open the Options menu, and scroll down until you find
Default
Document Type. Press the space-bar to skip between the options and choose
which one you want.

(b) how do i save them onto an sd card? To save your documents, either
let
them default to My Documents on the FlashDrive as you complete them, then
copy them onto your SD card later, or press S with enter to bring up the
Save As dialog box, then tab to the location list and back-space out of
the
default My Documents location until you get to your SD card, and save them
on their.

How do I convert to another file type should I need to? If I were you, I
would open the file you want to convert in the word processor on the U2
Mini, then re-save it using your preferred file type. I would not
recommend
simply changing the filename extension!

I am currently using an apex, and would like to transfer some of my files
onto an sd card to use with the mini. Do I need to convert these files,
and
in what format would you suggest I do so? It depends what the file
extension is on the files you wish to convert. If they are BrailleNote
specific, you might have to convert them to TXT on the Apex before reading
them on the U2 Mini. If, however, they are already DOC, DOCX, RTF, TXT,
BRF
or BRL files, they should work when opening them on the Mini.

On the mini I understand by factory default, speech and braille are on.
How
do I silent speech and how do I put it back again if I need to? From the
main menu, use the O-chord to open the Options menu, press V, then
space-bar
to turn it off, and enter. This toggles voice on and off.

Many thanks for any help.

Kind regards, Julie.
