HiThe files need to be on the root of the memory stick and should not be put in a folder. I'm not saying you've done this just pointing it out.
As with most equipment that likes to be awkard it's always a good idea to remove the power and let the thing reset, then try again.

Ibrahim, I now have the speech file and the latest firmware file on a memory stick. I put the stick into the t-vonics and, for some reason, it tells me there are no files to instal when I press okay on instal files using USB stick. Also, if I go into servicing, and try to upgrade, that will not work either. The files are definitely on the pen drive. The next thing to try is a complete reset. Should I have the pen drive connected while I do this? This is simple to resolve. If you have the DTR-500HD, click on this link: http://www.tvonics.com/software-upgrade/dtr-hd500Once you've downloaded the TTS engine file, copy the file to a pen drive andinsert it in to one of the 2 USB ports on the box. Go in to the TVonics menu system and under settings, accessibility settings there should be anoption to install speech files. Note that this option will only appear if apen drive is inserted. All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: David Russell Sent: Monday, July 16, 2012 10:22 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] t-vonics not talking Hi Further to my request for help regarding the t-vonics not talking to me, I have now found out that the speech files are missing. I have tried to download the file from the t-vonics site, but it will not download.I have phoned RNIB for help and am waiting for a response. In the meantime,is there any other way I can obtain the voice files or can anyone suggest why I cannot download them? Thanks.
