Hello Valerie, before you resort to Peter's probably accurate, radical, and
rather expensive solution, considder the following:-
The TVonics auto-tuning mode cannot be relied upon to identify the channels
(21-68) with the best broadcast signall. After completing an auto-tune and
selecting the northwest region, go through the following boring and tortuous
procedure to get the best out of your box:-
1. Go back into the tuning menu and enter your pin. 2. select manual tuning.
3. enter 21 on your remote. if the voice says "no signal" or gives you a
percentage under 40, ignore, and enter the next sequencial channel number (i.e.
22). 4. As soon as you get a healthy percentage on a channel number (over
40%), press "ok" and the box will scan for channels. Press "ok" again, and
enter the next channel number. 5. Keep going till you have tried all the
channels in the spectrum up to, and including, 68.
If this dose'nt get you a reliable signal on all freeview radio and tv channels
(including hd), a new external roof aereal will be the only solution. Good
Luck!!!
John

    Hi David.
I’m also on the North West transmitter and am having exactly the same
problem. I’ve have had it ever since I got the box some time ago and there
doesn’t seem to be an answer to it. It’s baffling because the problem only
applies to BBC radio and TV channels. All the other channels are fine. If you
go into the menus to check the signal strength, you’ll see that it’s poor at
about 20% on the BBC channels and medium at around 45 to 50% on ITV. A few
programmes I’ve recorded recently have been ruined because of signal break-up.
I’ve tried re-tuning the box and disconnecting it from the mains but it hasn’t
helped. At least it’s some consolation that I’m not the only one with this
problem.

    Good morning

Switched on tele this morning and all I got was the message “no signal”. I
am wondering if anyone else is having this problem..

Tvonics appears to be fine but looking at the Freeview website it just came
up with a load of technical tripe about stuff I’ve never heard of. So, going
out instead and see what happens when I get back. Have already tried
disconnecting from the mains.

    Regards to all.

    David
