mainly, as I am totally blind, so can't set stuff to record on the box, and
can't select stuff to play back, which is why I prefer to use the good old
video recorder.

Simon, I don't think this is possible. I seem to remember that once it gets
to 1am the Sky box will auto shutdown after 30 minutes or so if it doesn't see
any interaction from the viewer.

Is there any particular reason though why you can't make use of the recording
features to capture these programmes? You could then safely transfer to video
during the day.

    hello all,
does anyone know if there is a way to turn off the feature on a sky+hd box,
that makes it turn off after a certain amount of time?
as this feature is a total pest when trying to use it with a good old video
recorder! as half the time, by the time the VCR comes on, the sky+hd box has
shutdown, so nothing records!
it is driving me mad, and I really want to stop the sky+hd box from doing
this, if I can.
