Hi Douglas

Firstly both my mother and I have the same laptops and her's over heats too. In fact her laptop turns itself off if it gets too warm.

I use speed fan 4.08 to monitor the temperature. I think later versions are a bit more complex and take a bit of configuring.

I also use hddtemperature-1.1 and if you would like this I could send you a copy zipped up.

I was speaking to an engineer at the company who I send my laptop to as it is covered by an extended warrantee and 54 dg c is ok for a pc, but when the outer case gets very warm I do start to worry a bit.

Regards

Adrien

Adrien, Apologies for going off the subject slightly, but I too have a Toshiba
lap top which I suspect may be overheating.

How exactly are you monitoring the temperature? I remember having
some software on an old desktop which gave this information, but the name
of the program eludes me at present.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Douglas

Hi

I use a toshiba satellite laptop and I was wondering whether if 50 dg c
was ok temperature wise. I have cleaned out the vents, the case of the
laptop doesn't feel as if it is getting quite as warm. Is there any way to
regulate how often the fans come on and cool the system and the cpu?

I have installed speed fan, is this a good program?

I have been monitoring the temperature, it is slowly creeping up.

Adrien
