I can't imagine going out for a meal with someone and while they read the menu, I use KNFB and headphones. Surely discussing what is on the menu can be social as well. I know we want independence but I have never felt awkward when someone is reading a menu to me. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Hyde-Dryden" <csdryden@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi,

Without actually going through the settings, I'm pretty sure you can alter
the columnisation. Mind you, I've never had much problems with it reading
menus.

Steve, what with a menu if it is set out in columns?

I've never really gotten prismo to give me any positive experiences. I
have
KNF still on an old N86 and the results are still exceptional! I'd take
the
plunge and get it for the iPhone 5S but I'm reluctant in case it isn't as
good as on the N86?

Anyone compared yet? I do not want to use one of these stand things as I
do
not want to be restricted when I'm out somewhere having to set up
something
else. With my N86, I can simply take a pic of a menu and hey presto,
after
a minute or so, its reading out to me.

Steve

It was a great OCR on the Nokia, but I'm going to stick with Prismo for
now.
As long as Prismo is working ok for free, I can't justify £65.

Cheers

Barry

hi all amazingly i just got this app but, it said it was free must be a
mistake in the app store.

i must say though i have just tried it with a cheque i received for a
piano
tuning and it is very very good indeed i know many people will moan about
the price but you get what you pay for i say and for me personally it is
truly a really very very good app for a blind person to be able to scan
anything that they need to read. it is the best app i have seen in this
kind
of field and though i have to test it a good bit more even though it will
be
a real help for me.
