someone asked about talking scales a week or so ago, i had been looking
into some but didn't want to point people in that direction until i had
received and tried a pair of them.
i received them yesterday and they are a fantastic fully accessible
smart pair of kitchen/postal scales.
they are the smart chef make and connect to your smart phone via
bluetooth and although they work perfectly using Voiceover they also
have a talking mode whereby not only does your phone automatically speak
everything you are doing with them but you can control them using Siri
after recording your commands in the IOS shortcuts app.
Steve they do also work with android.
they have all types of modes that can give nutritional data and such
like on the things you are weighing and much more.
they measure 5 inches by 4 inches and not much more than half an inch
tall once the protective plastic trays are removed.
they are rechargeable and can be used for an hour per day and only need
recharging once a month, but used less the charge will last for months.
as well as controlling them via a smart phone they also have 4 physical
buttons and a display.
there are 2 versions the one i received can weigh up to 500 grams with
an accuracy of 0.01 grams, and the other pair can weigh up to 3kg with
an accuracy of 0.1 grams.
both models are identical in size and unbelievably only cost $14.95.
this was from amazon.com but even including shipping and inport fees
they cost less than £20, and i only ordered them friday afternoon and
they were here 4 days later.
