Hi Jackie, I purchased the 7 day time stat so that I could have the heating on at different times at the weekend to the week. Whilst we live in a small flat and the time stat in in the living room and out boiler is in the kitchen it does very well in controlling the temperature even around the flat. I would still have the time stat when we move to a dream house I have in mind but one thing to keep in mind is that the time stat has to be placed in an area where ever you want as long as there is no direct sunshine hitting the stat. If it helps you, I secured my stat box on the wall using T shaped picture or mirror plates. All I now have to do is just leave it alone and it just comes on and turns off to the time set. If you have Skype installed, I would be happy to talk with you further. Kindest Regards, Ibby Karbhari ? Phone: 020 7193 8755 ? Mobile: 07017 41 41 41 ? But seriously it's very nice for a change that someone actually went to the bother of doing their homework so that Chris could benefit from the Cobolt timer. We all complain like hell when people don't deliver, so it's nice to hear someone went the extra mile. Talk about give credit where it's due. The heating engineer who did the assessment suggested putting in a mechanical timer, as he said that I wouldn't get any help from a digital timer. However, when they arrived last Thursday, they brought the Cobolt talking timestat with them - I hadn'ttold the engineer about this product, so he must have done some good research. The electrician removed the plug and socket from the timer and connected it up permanently to the boiler. It works well, but because the lead that takes the current to the boiler is so short, the timer has to stand on a worktop, which is not an ideal place for it. Hope this helps.
