Joe,
I did this also a little while back.
I ended up with very fast, Spanish speech and tried, without success, to
work out where I was on the Android screen. (As I'd only just begun with
Android and Talkback, I didn't succeed in getting to the place where I
could alter the Talkback settings.
Anyway, eventually I had to seek sighted assistance and found that at
least the prompts were still in English! <Smiles>
Glad you've got it sorted anyway.

Thanks john, it worked, but not before I had an accident, I somehow set the
language to Spanish, and couldn’t get out of it, no matter how I tried and what
I did, nothing would chase the fair Spanish lady from my android, then just
before going to bed I had one more try, and I won’t lie to you, I don’t know
how I did it, but now my android phone speaks to me in perfect English, when I
got this android phone I was told I wouldn’t be able to manage it as a blind
person, but i’m getting there albeit slowly, and with a great deal of
assistance, and i’m enjoying it, thanks to everyone on this list for their
help and encouragement, got bless, travel safely, joe.
