Hi Julie.

There are two that i know of that connect directly to the 30-pin adaptor
port on the IPhone and can work with the appropriate adaptor for IPhone 5,
the Blue Mikey Digital and the Taskim IM2. The Mikey is quite a chunky
affair but it has an external input for connecting other devices you would
want to use as audio sources, automated gain control using three different
pre-sets and the stereo microphones are built in to the one side and are
right next to each other. The Taskim on the other hand is much smaller, has
the capsules at each end of the mike for the recording, but the gain control
is manually adjustable and there is no external input source. I personally
use the Mikey Digital but I have used the Taskim before and the sound
quality from both microphones is very good. Also, if using the Taskim, bare
in mind that because of the lack of shielding of each capsule, any wind
noise is going to be a real problem if recording outdoors, so a phone shield
is a good idea if going for this option.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] stereo microphones with ios devices

Hi

I am looking for a portable good quality stereo microphone to use with ipod
touch fifth gen, iphone 5 and ipad mini. And how would they connect to the
apple devices?

Can anybody recommend any products and advise where to get these?

Many thanks, Julie.
