like you i have a lg tv and wanted a decent soundbar to go with it, so i
initially looked at the lg models but at that time they didn't do what i
wanted them to .
i wanted a sound bar that could handle both dolby atmos and dts-x which are
the latest sound formats being used by movie makers, but just like when
video recorders first came out and there was vhs and betamax you couldn't
know which of the new sound formats would win out.
at the time none of the lg sound bars could handle dolby atmos and that was
why i went for a sony model.
that's not the case any more and lg have a few models that can handle both
sound formats but none of them are their from their cheaper models.
the ones that handle both formats seem to start around £270.
there's no reason why you need to stick to a lg model as with the sound
coming via the ARC HDMI socket you should get high quality sound no matter
which make the sound bar is.
although movie makers are using both of the newer sound formats it does look
as if dolby atmos is begining to win that battle according to articles i've
read on the web.
