James,

thanks for that. In fact, most of my problems came from lists on Yahoo
Groups. I therefore used an alternative email address and have had no
problems, but I still wanted to keep NTL as my main email address.

All is fine now, even if I have more spam than Monty Python.

thanks to all.

David

Hi David an all

Another option might be to avoid using NTL email and get a separate email
address which is not dependent on your ISP. I have found this very useful
as over the past few years I've been using university provision for my
internet connection, and my parents' broadband connection at home. this has
meant that had i relied on the various iSPs for email my address would have
been constantly changing, which is no good if you're on a lot of lists.
Anyway, the dedicated email provider I use is called usermail.com. They
have an extremely clean web interface which is very quick to load and very
accessible. I have been with them for nearly three years and have only had:
* Two spam emails (both reported and never heard from again)
* As far as I know, only one email wrongly blocked
* Five ours of downtime (last Tuesday as it happens, but as I say this is
the only time it has occurred).

It costs $19.95 per year, which I think is well worth it, and there is a
thirty-day trial.

James
