hi Kevin,

the original sound receiver from the 70's didn't record, but the portset
media centre and their talking video recorder did but only the media
centre had built in speakers.
i haven't looked for a while but last time i looked they still did the
media centre but it was expensive.
the only other thing i know of is the netgem soundbox hd which is a
sound bar with a built in freeview tuner,  this can also connect to
alexa for being controlled.
it has 30 watt -stereo speakers -and very good sound  but you do need to
connect it to a tv for the initial setup  as although you can talk to it
it doesn't talk to you.
it also has wifi, bluetooth, HDMI, and USB so you can stream to it, and use
it as high quality computer speakers.
it costs roughly £170.
