It also reads the programme synopsis if you press the i button. It will also do the same for recorded programmes once you start to play them.

Subject: [access-uk] sky talker now talking

Hi all at last after playing blind man's buff I have the thing working. for some reason the volume was down very low and yes i plugged in the scart to the wrong socket. as I said we have a box which is totally confusing. anyway just to re cap all it seems to do is speak the channel and say the name of the program.
is this all it does?
I can see where Will is coming from £70 is a lot to pay for this but again as Steve said on his podcast about the kindle we are hopefully paying for the future. it is a catch 22 a lot of blind people will be put off by the lack of access but if we do not buy then nothing will be done about the product.
it is good to know now which channel I am on it is a start.
I really hope that we can keep up communication with the people that are working on this but as two totally blind people hear Pat thinks it is wrong we have to pay for this sort of thing anyway as we pay £29 per month and have done so for the last fifteen years.
cheers then at least I got it to work.
