There are two methods for shutting down the mac.
1. Press and hold the power button for about three seconds. A dialogue box
appears with a number of buttons in it including sleep, restart and shutdown.
press any of these with VO space to perform the selected action.
2. Open the menu bar with VO m and hit a for apple or simply down arrow to
open the apple menu. Second from the bottom in that drop-down is shut down
which you can either arrow to or get to with the hot key s. Enter on that and A
confirmation box appears asking you to confirm that you want to shut down. The
shut down button is selected by default so hit VO space again and off it goes.
Answer to question 2 is yes.

does this mean you hold down the voice over key and press f2 twice
i have decided that i'll learn nothing properly without actually using the mac
in conjucnction with the info youve al sent so that'll be my first challenge
