[access-uk] setting up my new laptop

Hi All
I have ended up purchasing a windows 8 machine. I have 2 questions at
present.
Firstly, how do I exit programs? I am trying alt F4 and nothing is
happening. Secondly, when trying to set up mail, it is requesting a
microsoft account. Do I have to have this or can I skip it?
If so how do I do this?
