Hi Carol,I do have an electronic manual on this machine, but it is in .PDF format and it says that without the permission of the computer manufacturers I can not convert it to text, and although I have adobe reader, I can not get my head round .PDF files, however, I have been discussing the problem I am having with the microphone in a telephone conversation with Colin Howard and off list e-mails with Peter Beasley.
As a result of speaking to Colin I managed to work out which socket the microphone jack needed to be plugged into , and as a result of the e-mails between myself and peter Beasley, I have now got the relevant check box checked in volume control, however my next question, which I have already put to Peter, but I will ask the list also, since either yourself, or ray may be able to answer it, is, Now that I have the microphone checkbox checked in volume control, considering that I do not have anything to plug into the Line In socket and that as a result of this I have left the Line In volume low and the line In check box unchecked, how can I make certain of whether the microphone is working or not?
Thank you again for all your help.Alexander Shannon
