Hi, well the heat will certainly make your issue worse, but in fact I remember you had this problem way before the so called heatwave started! I seem to remember it was April when we first noticed it. First we thought it was the charger, and in fact the transformer did pakc up that night, so we bought a new one from PCWorld, and that made it last a while longer but now this problem's getting pretty annoying I must say. So yes I think this is either a fan issue or dust is blocking the vents. Either way, it's a hardware problem, not a software or Windows problem. Windows forces your laptop to shut off so as to prevent damage from overheating, but that's all. Hope this helps Hannah.-- Chris Hallsworth Derbyshire, UK E-mail christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype chrishallsworth7266 Website http://www.chrishallsworth.co.nr Klango chrishallsworth----- Original Message ----- From: "Hannah Day" <hannahday1989@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, July 27, 2008 10:20 PM Subject: [access-uk] replacement of a fan for a laptopHi everyoneSince it's been hot here for the past 2 days my laptop keeps over heating.
