Well yes but not from a BBC Sounds App.
I still massively prefer listening to BBC Sounds content via my VR Trek.
As far as I can tell all of the Podcasts from BBC Sounds are also directly
available from the O tunes Podcast database on the VR Stream and Trek. You
simply search under the Podcast name and subscribe as normal. I personally have
never found content available on BBC Sound that is not also available on the VR
devices but I cannot 100% guarantee this of course.
Similarly for the Radio content from BBC Sounds is also generally available on
the O Tunes Database on these devices.
Sadly this is not always true for the sports feeds which emanate not from BBC
Sounds but the BBC Sports app.
In relation to other specialist players the Evo 10 will support both BBC Sounds
Podcasts and BBC Radio stations but you need to organise this via a Podcast app
on your PC or Mac first and then transfer this across to the Evo. Similarly for
Radio Stations as there is no searchable utility on the Evo 10 for radio
streams or Podcasts. I have a collection of radio streams available to support
the Evo though.
A similar situation pertains to the Plextalk devices but these are getting
pretty long in the tooth now and have not been updated for years.
Consequentially you will find that the Plextalk will increasingly fail to play
many modern Podcast formats or Radio Streams. Certainly the range of streams
and podcasts supported by the Evo surpasses now the range supported by Plextalk.
