Hi Brian

I would guess that the mp3 file is playing in either Windows Media Player or Winamp.

Try playing the file;
hold down the alt key to the left of the space bar and then keep pressing the tab key. This will tell you the name of the windows that are open.

If the file is playing in Windows Media Player, hold down the control key and press the letter p to pause and the same again to play.

If the file is playing in Winamp, press the letter c to pause and the same again to play.
