You should also look at online services where you can build your website 
online and have it published automatically. By far the easiest way of 
building and maintaining a site ... if your son finds it accessible.

But, in the meantime, do look at Microsoft Front Page or Front Page express 
... play around with it and see what you come up with. If you like what you 
see then you can quite easily build a site on your own computer. The next 
step is to upload it to some web space and then buy a domain name and attach 
it to that webspace.
