There will be several ways of doing this.
You need to activate the context menu.
On my PC I do this with Shift F10.
I then arrow down to a sub-menu called "Send to".
In that there is a link "send short-cut to desk-top".
I am sure that there will be other ways as well.

Isn't it just as it was in earlier versions of windows?
