hi this is a common thing with fraudsters.
they get friends to accept goods at addresses, find houses where people are not there.
and sit and wait for the post man.

cons are in the news like this all the time.

some people even have goods delivered to addresses and then move house a few days later.

I can say that one customer did this to me but he fell in to a hole as he did not know that I knew his sister. so he had to pay up in the end but it cost me a train ticket to get the money owed so I made a loss on the item but got most of the money back.

once bitten twice shie.

why would I give an address to receive goods at, that I didn't live at? how
could I receive the goods by doing that?
it just doesn't make sense!

Simon

hi Simon
firstly the RNIB will have you as a member to start with before giving you
credit. and they are a massive org to be able to absorb the odd fraudster
and have the funds to contract debt collectors.

now do you expect me to receive a phone call from you and then send goods to
you not knowing if you even live at that address.
or if you can pay for them.

I do not think so.
I once had to save up to buy items then I saved enough money to start a
small business to help people in our situations.

sounds like excuses to me, as to the best of my knowledge, the RNIB don't
run any of this credit check stuff for there easy pay option.
also, especially for those of us on benefits, saving up can take far too
long, banks very often won't extend overdrafts, and not everywhere has a
credit union. I certainly don't know of one in Ilford for example.

hello all

as a owner of a small one man organisation, I did enquire about offering
credit terms for my customer.

the cost of applying to become a credit agency had a considerable cost.
plus
then for some one to undertake credit checks on the customer had a charge
too as well as insurance for this sort of transaction, ment that I would
have to increase my prices by up to 25 percent
would you buy from me at this increased cost.
when you can save up or get an overdraft from your bank and the option to
go
to a credit union at very little cost.
I would be able to increase my customers at least twice if I was to offer
credit.
.

Hi, yes I think all companies should offer something like the easy pay
like
RNIB offer. I do think that something should be done about this. It would
make products more affordable and allow more of us to buy some of these
products that we may find useful in our personal lives.
