Hi Brendan you do not say what product, only that it is Microsoft. I can tell you that if she contacts Microsoft over the telephone and gives them her code then they can help to sort it out. Are you sure she has not installed the product previously on another machine. It may be that she needs to deinstall it. Sorry I said 'she' and I think you actually said 'friend'. My apologies.
