HiHmm, I don't think my phone line will take the over fast capacity when i think about it but I'm sure it should be capable of a faster connection than I seem to have.
I'm only downloading one file a day at the moment as on the whole its so slow so i don't think I'll be over using the service.
Thanks for the comments, very much appreciated!! Trace----- Original Message ----- From: "Ibrahim Gucukoglu" <ibrahim_gucukoglu@xxxxxxxx>

Hi Trace.BT broadband is very good, they do both business and residential packages and as far as I'm aware they don't impose download limits though they may have a fair usage policy. As for getting super fast broadband, it will depend on the quality of your line and the distance you are from the exchange. If I were you, I'd give BT a call and ask them to do a line test which will tell you the maximum theoretical speed you can achieve. BE24 and sky are all very well, but they all come down the same line so unless your going down the Virgin route high speed broadband will be subjective. All the best, Ibrahim----- Original Message ----- From: "Spring.flower" <spring.flower@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, February 01, 2009 7:47 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: plusnet againPlusnet are very helpful but i don't like the limits they seem to have, I'm looking to see if there's a package I'd prefer to the one I'm on at the moment, some of the other companies do seem to have better ideas though. What is BT like as they own plusnet? From Be and O2 Broadband, your money goes a lot further with 20MB and 24MB download speeds, again with unlimited downloads and no ridiculous polisies. And then there's Vergin Media, for Phone, TV, and 50MB download speed via cable, its around £31 a month. Just my thoughts.-----Original Message----- Sent by Dean Wilcox on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 05:20 PM There is your way options 1 2 and 3, I am on option 3. There used to be your way pro for gamers with better speeds but that has gone now. Mine is the £19.55 package with 30 gig, that does include VAT. I find them reliable and like Plus a lot. Have you looked at their links that report back on any current known technical issues. If you let them know that you are thinking of moving away because of this problem you are experiencing, you might find them very helpful, I know I did, they even gave me a months free subscription, just because I was considering it!I still say that Plus are very good, and their customer service and response for me, has been excellent -Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: <mailto:spring.flower@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>Spring.flower To: <mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, January 30, 2009 4:25 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: plusnet againHi Andy, I'm just playing around on their site right now, between answering mail etc.I can't find a package that offers unlimited downloads, am I mising something or don't they do one?I've found one that gives thirty gigs of downloads a month which seems ok, how slow do they make you go down to if you go over your allowance? it just took me nearly forty five minutes just to download mail, i know I get a lot but it should have been five minutes at the very most. Thanks for the response.Trace----- Original Message ----- From: <mailto:Andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>ANDY COLLINS To: <mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2009 8:07 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: plusnet againTrace -Firstly, my experience with Plusnet is very good, and I can tell you that when I changed from my old package with them, to one of their "broadband your way" packages, there was no loss of connection, so I hope that is reassuring.I would suggest you look at their "broadband your way" packages, and see which best meets your usage. Off-peak is between midnight and 8 am, but on the cheaper BYW packages, there are speed restrictions at different times of the day, but I have found these not to be especially noticeable, but I guess it all depends on how much downloading you do, and what times; I understand the dearest package to offer top speeds at all times, but you can confirm all this for yourself by reading up on what they offer, they are very transparent, and do tell what speeds they offer and when, in a 24 hour period.I've been with them for several years now, and although have thought about changing, am glad over all that I haven't, they are good value, and customer service and support is very good, from the few times I have had to make use of it.Good luck -Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: <mailto:spring.flower@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>Spring.flower To: <mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2009 4:41 PM Subject: [access-uk] plusnet againHiI've been on the plusnet website and have looked at their packages as it were, I can't find mineanywhere, premier option 1, am I right in thinking this is no longer offered. There are two I'm interested in, one that gives top speeds at all time but the monthly download limit seems to be fifteen gigs, the other is the same price and gives thirty gigs, this however says nothing about top speeds, am I right in thinking that this one doesn't offer top speeds at all times?Their off peak hours now seems to be from midnight to some time in the morning, I'm thinking that the rest of the time is part of the peak times and is counted in your monthly allowance? If I were to change isp how long is it likely I'd be without net connection? I've heard it can be weeks?ThanksTrace---------- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG.
