Hmm, hadn't thought of that, now, would the bands perish in the freezer?

Just imagining all of the labels at the bottom of the freezer and not a thing labelled LOLOL

I haven't done this yet but would probably go for the elastic band and label method and tie it round the neck of the bag.

Hi

your ideas are similar to mine by the sound of it.

I've done some more of the memory sticks and I've started
on the flash cards etc, I'm not labelling them directly
but I have a pile of small wallets that I got from
7dayshop that hold four flash cards, each in their own
little pocket so a card with the label on can be put in
position for each, can do the same with the sd cards.
My sighted help is Mum and if she's ever not around and
something's needed urgently I think it'd be a good idea
to have the important bits labelled so if need be I could
find things.
How would you label say a bag of roast potatoes in the
freezer? you could just stick a label on it but once the
bag was used the label would be wasted so, how do you do
it so you can re-use them?
I was actually thinking the other day about the ammount
of stuff we sometimes have to take out with us!!

Thanks

Trace XX

Well, Trace, not as many things as I wanted to, but
certainly have done all the jars so I don't have to take
lids off to find out what's inside. I've done all the
containers with cooking items and all of my spices,
gravys etc. For most things I have used the label on
card method. I also keep a label on the back of my
phone so that I can take a short bit of information out
with me if I need. I have found it's not too good to
take a long shopping list though as you can't stop and
start without hearing everything, but for a few items
(that you may forget) or if you need a code for
something while you're out, I find the label on phone
quite useful as long as I remember my pen as well! I am
going to do most of my freezer stuff before Christmas as
we'll have quite a long spell without sighted help
during that time. I also want to do all the plugs in
the house. Most of them have Braille at present, but
you can't get much Braille on them so spend too much
time trying to work out what the abbreviation meant! <Grins>
Oh, I've also labelled a number of chargers that I can't
stand mixing up and having to remember, though I have
left those which sometimes have to leave the house in
Braille only in case I don't take the pen.
I have thought of labelling correspondence also and
think I would do more of this if I didn't have regular
sighted help.
I hope this is of help to you.

OK, what else have you labelled then? you might give me
some ideas.
I laminated a pile of cardboards to day, I can cut them
down and then put a label on them for some things where
it'd be difficult to put the label on the item itself.

Yes, Trace, I agree, plugs are a "must" and are on my
list because I still haven't got them done! This week
looks possible though as it's almost at the top of my
"To Do" list!

Hi, thanks, not doing too bad at the moment, my next
job after doing the memory sticks are the plugs, I
have that many connected to the computer that it'd be
brilliant if I could get them all labelled so that if
I need to unplug something to move it orwhatever I'll
know which one's which, also, the plug for the sky
box so that when the box plays sillies I'll know
which plug to unplug. Trace with thanks

Hi Trace,

Nice to hear you've got a pen friend.
I hope you will like it.

You can just record a new lable over the old lable
just re-record it and it shell overwrite the lable.

Yes, your sockets are in that exact place let me know
if you need any more help and I'll do my best to
answer.
Best wishes, madleen

Hi

My penfriend arrived to day, our post comes so late
that I haven't really had a chance to play with it
yet but i have labelled a memory stick, memory sticks
have actually bugged me for ages as they're made in such a
way that you can put a label on them but it has to be
small, the small labels with the penfriend are
brilliant for this, I've got loads more memory sticks
so I'll be happy for the rest of the day i think LOL
How do you erase a recording if you want to re-use
the label for something else? not really done with a
memory stick but in some cases you can have the label stuck
on a piece of card and then attached to a document with
a paper clip or whatever and you may want to re-use the
label once you can bin the document.
I haven't bought any more labels yet but what do you
get in a pack of a or b? are the labels differently
sized like they are in the ones you get with the
machine?
Oh, and, where's the headphone socket? in the flap
with the usb connector? and the mic socket although i
haven't got a mic yet.
Trace who's off to label everything now
