OK, well, I was about to order the "A" batch, having only the Starter Pack as yet. ...

What now ...?

Hi Carol and all pen friend users.

I ordered my pen friend yesterday (Friday) and i have
been told that all the "A" batch of labels have been sent
back to the manufacturer as they are having a problem
with them. I asked for the labels marked "B" and was told
they have not been produced yet. My order will be shipped
on the 25th August with the batch of labels that come
with the pen friend. I would suggest that if anyone has
the Labels marked "A" that you contact the RNIB and find
out what the situation is with them. Jim.

Aha! Thanks for the warning! Now that makes good sense
and at least there's a workaround.

Have received an email today from rnib re the mix up
with the labels. For those blind people who have no sighted
assistance, each label as well as having an individual
code embedded in it has a print number on it. so, the
sheet of small round labels in the sample pack has
numbers 1 to 91 printed on them. Likewise the first
sheet of small labels in pack A has 1 to 91, hence the
duplication. the same is for the other shapes in the
sample and other shapes and sizes in pack A. so, We will
hang on to the duplicate labels, keeping them
completeley separate to avoid confusion, and when we have to dispose
of a container or package with a label we can then use
the duplicate label and rerecord the message. Hope
this idea hasn't confused you, but it's just an idea.
Brian
