HiGraham,thanks for your reply,yes ,my mail was rather contradictory!.the 
reason for the Jaws comment was because I have another P D F file which is 
mostly text ,any way I will look  for adobieand give it a try!,thanks again.Alan

  well the 2 things are a bit of a contradiction since you are viewing photos 
so JAWS by definition will make little sense of those, though it may be that 
text descriptions can be read if there are any depending how the PDF was put 
together.

  If you download Acrobat Reader JAWS will do the best it can though I have 
always found reading PDF files is a bit hit and miss though you can usually get 
enough information to make sense of them.
