Hi,

Sorry I meant BT's customer service, not UTV. I was just making the point that
UTV use BT's Exchanges. I think you still need a BT LAN Line to get UTV
internet/pone packages?

Cheers,
Barry

Hi Barry

Out of interest, why wouldn't you recommend their customer service, which is
what they brag about if you listen to their blocks of adverts every evening
during prime time TV especially. I watch the Chase at 5.00 if I can, and then
UTV Live, followed by the ITV Evening News, and the amount of adverts that pass
in that 90 minutes or so relating to UTV broadband is amazing.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Hi,

I've just signed my partner Joanna up with Topmail. Very nice, very nice
indeed. Love the POP support. So she's now said goodbye to BT for emails.

Jackie UTV will be going through BT's exchange for the Fibre Optic.
However, the Fibre Optic is an excellent service. I was reported to get around
37.9MB and at times I get over 40MB. Things are traffic shaped to preserve
bandwidth on the local NODE, like Bit Torrent and other file sharing systems.
However, it's excellent and I'd recommend their service.
Not their customer service.

Barry.

Yes, thanks Alex. As we live in Northern Ireland, our local TV channel, UTV,
have their own broadband service which is reputed to be very good with
fibre-optic cables and a dedicated UK-based call centre. The prices don't look
too bad either, but we'll see.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Hi Jackie,

I'm glad I could point you in the correct direction for some help, although the
support News Group does seem to be quiet at present.

I quite understand why you can't subscribe yourself, and why both yourself and
Martin may look for another provider later on, but for the moment I hope the
information I've passed on is of some help.
