Genrally if you find ribbons difficult you can often find the same function
using the context menu.
These instructions apply to Word 2010 but normally the context menu is similar
if not the same in all versions of Word I think..
So in your document first of all press control A to select all text.
Now bring up the context menu with either shift F10 or hit the application key.
Now cursor down to the paragraph menu and hit enter.
This will open up a dialogue box through which you can specify paragraph styles
including indentation....
You will also find an area called special where you can specify different
paragraph styles in a combo box, included in the available styles is hanging
indent.

Subject: [access-uk] paragraphs in Word 365
I belong to a Creative Writing Group where my submissions are required to be
sent in a certain format, this being that speech and new paragraphs should be
indented. I have been enabling this by pressing the enter key and then pressing
the spacebar five times.
But last night I was told that tabbing and spacing can often cause problems
when the document is opened in a different font or programme and what is
required is for me to enable the correct paragraph setting in MS Word.
I’ve looked at the ribbon settings but don’t really understand what the
settings are offering.
So, can someone tell me please how to enable the document to automatically
indent when the enter key is passed in MS Word.
Is this the same as hanging paragraphs?
