Hi Léonie and George:

It appears that my ability to search the Microsoft knowledge base is not as
good as both of yours!

At least I have now found out what the issue is - not my doing!

A 'friend?' decided to tidy up my startup list and ceased automatic startup
of anything to do with SQL.
he did ask me if i use it, my answer was (in my then ignorance) 'no' - not
realising that Business Manager availed itself of it - now to try and
rectify the issue!

David

David,

It's fairly technical, but the following troubleshooting article
from Microsoft may help:

Regards,
Léonie.

Hi thanks for the offer.

The error message is that the business contact database cannot be loaded.
The current action has been stopped.
Do you want to change the configuration?
I am then given options of yes and no.

If yes is selected, then I am presented with User-alphanumeric key.

I have looked for this on the C root directory, within all users, and my own
user profile without any joy.

I have tried a reinstall, and repair option, and googled - also without any
joy!

It would appear that I need to recreate the database (or remove pointer to
it) but cannot work out how to do either!

Further, in Outlook, the Business heading in the menu has gone walk abouts!

Help would be much appreciated with all this in mind.

David

David,

I don't know anything much about BCM, but if you post up the error
message you're getting, I'd be happy to Google about to see if there's a
solution about.

Regards,
Léonie.

Hi Léonie:
Well, things have moved on now!

As the list was very quiet, and my time for play was precious, I took the
plunge!

I too am finding the same issue, but I guess that in time I will get the
hang of it.

A bigger issue is that Outlook isn't seeing my 'business contact manager'
database, and haven't yet found how to fix it.

David

David,

Although they're much more useful, I still find it strange to have
the ability to open multiple tabs in a browser. For some reason I can't
quite register the tab keyboard shortcuts in my head, so I often find I
resort to using Control Enter to force new browser windows to open. Aside
from this temporary aberration on my part, IE7 is great.

It works well with Jaws 8 and 9. Things are pretty straight forward
and in most respects, very similar to IE6. Are you thinking of moving over?

Regards,
Léonie.

Some while was some discussion on this.
How is anyone getting on with it now - particularly when using JFW?
